Yuba Lake

One of our main goals when going on vacation is to avoid going where everyone else goes. But I also wanted to go somewhere warmish, less than 2 hours away, and a place we could kayak. Our options were very limited, but we decided to try camping at Yuba Lake. We weren't sure what to expect when we got there, but it ended up being perfect. I chickened out tenting it with Nolan just yet, so we stayed in a cabin with bunk beds and a heater. So I don't know if you can really call it camping, but everything smells like smoke, we didn't shower, and we didn't have a bathroom, so I think it still counts. We soaked up some sun, cooked over the campfire, played at the beach, and basically rejuvenated our souls until our next adventure. It might be in the middle of nowhere with only a few scattered trees and some sand, but Yuba Lake was just what we needed.
