We left for Antelope Island today with the intention of getting away from the nasty smog that covers the valley during much of winter. The inversion is one of the few things I don't like about Utah; going outside can feel like breathing straight out of an exhaust pipe. Antelope Island was just as smoggy as every else, but it created gorgeous views and a new feeling on the island. The trail was eerily silent and we could just barely make out the tops of the mountains peaking through the fog. The last time I hiked to the peak I was 20 weeks pregnant. We didn't make it to the top today, but I'd like to do it again on a clear day. It is a pretty intense hike, but the view makes it well worth the climb.
