My school is closed for a SNOW DAY today. This means that I am going to brave the roads to Park City for an awesome powder day snowboarding with my brother. I know that some people may frown upon snowboarding and being prego, but I have done my research, talked to my doctor, and it's something I feel very comfortable with. Especially because my Christmas break was such a let down. It was my first week of morning sickness, which was more like all day sickness. I hadn't really figured out the best tricks for handling it yet, and I spent all day every day going from my bed to the couch with barf breaks in between. It was miserable. When we did get out of the house, the drive nearly killed me. Mark had taken a few days off so we could snowboard, and instead he ended up cleaning the house and taking care of me. I lost 11 pounds in 10 days which seemed like such a cruel trick. How about I get the skinniest I've been in years right before I get the biggest I've ever been in my life! If anyone was wondering why I keep wearing the same two pairs of pants to work, now you know it's because all my others are too big and have sag butt. I'm definitely not going shopping though because I'm sure it's just a matter of weeks before it's the opposite and all of my pants are too tight.
This nausea business is weird stuff. If my stomach gets empty and hungry then I get really sick. It's important to keep it full, but I would rather do anything in the world besides eating. I have to force myself to eat so I don't get super sick though. Having the desire to eat has definitely never been a problem for me in the past, so now that it is a chore just to eat a piece of toast is pretty weird. I'm keeping a mental list of all the foods I'm going to eat once I feel better which includes a banana cream pie Blizzard and queso blanco from Applebees. For now I suppose I'll sick to crackers and bread, but after the first trimester I never want to look at a saltine again.

something that helped me was ginger ale, something about ginger makes the morning sickness better and so does applesauce. just thought I would share.
This is exactly how I felt with my first baby--sick if I didn't eat but nothing tasted good. But baby 2 was way different so you are not doomed for life, just for a while. Good luck!
On my first I was really sick also. I ended up in the hospital twice. My Dr told me to take vitamin B6. It helped some. Good luck.

If your morning (all day) sickness is really bad, you can request a prescription for Zofran aka Ondansetron. It has been a life-saver for me when I have been pregnant and sick!
Hey Congrats! And YOU GO GIRL!! Hit up those slopes! No Judging Here!! Anyone who judges a prego girl staying active.....either hasn't had a kid....or if they had....they weren't active while they were pregnant. it's the best thing you can do for your self! I played Volleyball on a rec leage till I was 7 months Pregnant! Now that I'm 16 weeks along with kid number two (haven't posted on fb or blog yet though) I haven't been able to work out like I want to and Snow bording has been a temptation for sure, but I've had some other issues so I can't. SO YOU GO GET EM!! (just listen to your body! You know best!) You'll be in the second trimester before you know it!! WOOT WOOT!
