I Love Being Pregnant..... What Did I Just Say? - 17 Weeks

I think I really did just type that I love being pregnant.... and even weirder, I think I meant it. Not like I love this so much I can't wait to do it again kind of love, but I'm finally getting to the good part. I feel great and like myself again 90% of the time which is a definite morale booster. I'm hungry always and enjoying food. That is much better than the starving all the time/hate food combo I was recently experiencing.

Only 12 more days until we find out what we've having! I am so sure it's a girl, that I'm sure it's a boy. Chinese gender calendar predicts it's a girl, I feel like it's a girl, and I've had several people tell me they also think it's a girl. I've even been given a box of girl clothes and my first baby gift which was a little dress. Therefore, it must be a boy. I think Mark is still hoping it's a boy, but I'm starting to feel equally exciting for either.

I'm just a few weeks away from needing some new clothes. It's been fun to have people actually start noticing my belly really is growing. Up until now I just feel huge and like my clothes are tight, but not really prego yet. I keep hoping that any day now I will feel the baby move. I lay in bed and concentrate so hard on feeling something, but all that happens is I realize I have to pee again.

Tonight I made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. After several desperate attempts to open the stubborn jar of spaghetti sauce I called Mark to see how far away he was. It was only about 15 minutes, but that was 15 minutes too long. If I waited any longer I knew I would die. In a very heathen-like manner I pulled out the largest knife we had and attacked the jar lid while letting out a tarzan scream. I was not about to let that little piece of metal stand between me and my dinner. After several violent stabs I made a hole small enough that I could shake the sauce out. The things pregnant women will do for food....

I have to admit I hope it is a girl! I'm so glad you are getting to the good part.

I attended my first birth as a doula yesterday, and it was awesome. If you want a doula for free, I have to attend 3 births for my certification! Glad that you're feeling better!

Keeping fingers crossed for a boy but would adore a girl as well.
