Tight Pants- 13 Weeks

I'm not sure if I felt like my stomach doubled size in the span of 5 hours today because I had a shake for dinner and another shake at 10:00 this morning, or if it's normal to feel my stomach get bigger every day. By the end of work I had to unbutton my pants Al Bundy style and hope that my shirt was long enough no one would notice. The rubber band trick will work for a few more weeks, but I'm guessing it will be time for one of those belly band contraptions soon (why do I hate the word "belly" so much). Another thing it's going to be time for is some magical cream to slather myself in every day to avoid the ever dreaded stretch marks. I read 1000 reviews of everything from $5.00 coco butter lotion to $50.00 magic potions with vitamin e and fairy dust and I'm still confused about what I should get. I don't really want to spend a lot of money, but I want something that works. I need a little guidance, what has everyone else used and what actually works?

Congratulations on your pregnancy! You have many exciting times ahead! I used the Coco butter lotion faithfully, but still got some stretch marks---I'm super proud of them tough! So worth it. :)

I tried coco butter....first and last time though.....the smell makes me throw up......some of us get stretch marks no matter what while others get none doing nothing to prevent. Good luck....mine faded in time.

Everything I've read says that there is really nothing you can do to prevent stretch marks if you are going to get them, Lotions will help with the itching as your skin stretches so it is still worth it, but I wouldn't spend a lot of money on a miracle cure (if only there was one...I thought I might escape the stretch marks but 35 weeks hit and boom...here they are).
