Is This A Joke? No... No It's Not.

I just need to take a little moment to vent. Not something I usually use my blog for, but this will make you laugh.

Now that we have decided we're going to stay in Salt Lake and keep renting for at least another year, it's time to figure out where to go. Our lease is up at the end of May. I absolutely love where we are living now and I don't want to leave, but they are increasing our rent $90 a month if we stay. If we move to a smaller apartment in the same complex our rent still goes up, and they charge a $300 "transfer fee".

We went in today to see if they could give us a deal, which they won't. When we said we would probably be moving then, the kind girl pulled this helpful sheet out to show us how not moving actually helps us save money.

This is how they're going to convince us to stay? No thank you.

Apartment Wanted. Nice young couple looking for apartment midway

while the paper was humerous, it still is stingy of them to do what they're doing! you know, i hate renting from people. its just no good. somehow they ALWAYS get the better end of the deal no matter how friendly and understanding they are. pooey.

good luck with finding a new place to live!!

haha wow. that's ridiculous! I seriously thought it had to be a joke until I got to the bottom of it! They are crazy! Good decision to get the heck outta there!

Wow Jamie! San Moritz didn't give US this paper when we went to ask them if they'd lower our rate if we stayed. A lot of people must move after their contract is up, or else why would they do this?! They are so dumb. We're glad we moved from there. :)

Haha. I used to live at San Moritz. In fact, that's where I was living when I got divorced. You would think they would have given a deal or something for extreme circumstances...but they didn't. They just said, "sorry for your situation, but you're still in a lease." Which was funny to ME because my cheating, lame, ex, got stuck with having to pay to get out of the contract. So really...I was OK with the lameness of San Moritz for THAT reason. Anyway, they're gorgeous apartments, great amenities, but lame people! :)

ew! what the heck are they thinking with that letter? how bouttt you just negotiate our rent instead of taking the time to write that? ugh! and seriously it does NOT cost that much at all. there are actually a lot of move in specials for apartments like getting the first month free. hope you get it all worked out :)

Perfect approach to get you to leave - you can say 'thanks' for helping you make up your mind ;)

Wow, that would have annoyed me too! I wonder if that has ever worked for them.
