Things I Hear At Work

I work at an elementary school, and everyday we hear kids say hilarious things. Here are some of my favorites:

Fourth grade boys walking down the hall-
Boy 1: So do you have ADHD?
Boy 2: No we have Comcast.

Second grade girls-
Girl 1: That's so crazy that you're allergic to burnt toast.
Girl 2: No I'm not allergic to toast, I can't drink milk. I'm not sure why they call it black toast intolerant.

First grade girl: Can I get a namanilla envelope?

Me: Why don't you call your Mom and tell her you don't feel good?
After the phone rings several times...
First grade girl: My Mom didn't answer, it was the robot.

There is a second grade boy that always calls me Office: "Hey Office", "Here you go Office" etc... In his mind I guess there is the teacher, the principal, and I'm the office. Makes sense.

And there was that one time a girl was on the phone; I asked her if it was the answering machine and she said "No, it's the telephone!"
Duh!

My fist grader found a bone in our homemade chicken noodle soup. "I wonder which bone it is?" I say. His reply "It looks like the Chickens pecker!" I couldn't stop laughing.

Too. Funny. I spend my days at an elementary school as well teaching intervention groups.

Today, one first grade boy asked me in the middle of our reading story "Would you like to come over to my house for meat loaf? Do you even like meat loaf? If you say yes, you can come. If you say no, then that's okay too." If you figure out the appropriate answer to that, let me know- I'm still trying to figure it out.

I have a very similar post here: I have a very similar post here: http://ilovelovenotes.blogspot.com/2010/12/i-love-conversations-with-kiddos.html

I read this out to my husband last night and we both laughed so hard! You should make this a regular series on your blog; I know it brightened my day :)
