Tricks

Let me share some secrets with you....

Problem: Pain... headache, cramps, sprained ankle, any type of pain. I hate taking medicine, but I have a very low pain tolerance.

Solution: Cross your arms. Researchers found that when people cross their arms it confuses the way the brain processes pain. From Time.com, "The confusion results from a misalignment between the brain's external mapping of where it normally assumes the hands will be and it's internal map of the physical source of the new pain information". Ok I haven't tried this yet, I just read about it. But next time something starts hurting I'm going to cross my arms! Maybe the same trick takes away ice cream cravings?

Problem: Your alarm doesn't go off (or you're just plain lazy) and there is no time to wash your hair.

Solution: Baking soda. Yep, I keep a box in my bathroom. Not that I go days on end without washing my hair or something. Sometimes you just don't feel like washing and drying and straightening or curling your hair right? It's tiring just to say all of that. Sprinkle some baking soda at the roots and brush your hair. This absorbs and icky greasy grossness, and helps your hair look clean and have body again. I'm not sure if this works for people with dark hair, but it works for me!

Problem: If you're schedule is like mine, you get home in just enough time to workout before dinner. The result: you're starving starving starving once you start (or before you even begin). Then your workout is very wussy, or you just stop all together because the only thoughts running through your head are of bread and pasta.

Solution: Eat 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter before you hit the gym. I prefer mine on celery or Ritz crackers. You will have plenty of energy to make it through your workout, and you will still be ready for dinner when you get home!

I love this post! I have been using "dry shampoo" for the past month (I only wash my hair one to two times a week), but the baking soda sounds like a cheaper option that I will have to try out!

Number one... I'll have to try sometime! Though I tend not to be in pain very often.
Number two, "dry shampoos" are amazing! Tried baking soda once, but with my dark hair, I thought it looked a little... off.
And YES peanut butter is a great booster! I AGREE!

Hope your Tuesday has gone by faster than your Monday!
:)

And here all of this time I've thought crossing my arms was just a good way to make my "Disappointed Teacher" look complete!

I'm going to try that peanut butter thing! I always am starving by the time I make it to workout, but if I eat before yoga I get mad stomach aches, so i need something simple. I'm totally trying that before my class tonight.
