Well we knew this day would come sooner or later..... we sold Mark's truck. We had so many good memories together, but we both commute 45 minutes one way to work so we had to find something with better gas mileage. You may wonder why we don't move, but we both drive in opposite directions so it wouldn't do any good darn it. Meet our new jeep!
It still has 4-wheel drive and all the camping, dirt road driving, adventure going capabilities of the truck.... but way better gas mileage. And with this color it never looks dirty no matter how often it rains!
I haven't written much about my new job, but I'm loving it! Instead of building a new building for the school, they bought the building of a private school that went out of business last year. There is a lot of work that needs to be done! For some reason they were anti-color because every wall in the building was white! Blah.... so while the teachers have been painting their rooms, we spent the first week or so painting the office area. It's finally finished and now it's crunch time! We're trying to get everything organized while drowning in paperwork and being bombarded with questions from parents. It's so busy and hectic, but that's what makes it so fun! I'm really excited for school to start, but thoughts of student files, and reports to the state are taking over my dreams at night! I just hope we have everything ready by August 25th!
I know some people think this is so weird (I'm pretty sure Mark does), but I don't care..... I'm becoming obsessed with yoga. My work outs used to be intense cardio, music blasting, sweat-it-up workouts. I don't think I've been to a spin class or lifted weights since my first yoga class. The one time I went running I had to stop because my legs were itching like mad. I googled "itchy legs while running" to find out that it's caused by a "sedentary lifestyle". Sedentary lifestyle? Yeah right webMD, but it was an obvious sign my Nikes and iPod are being neglected. I've replaced them with hippie yoga clothes and a yoga matt. I look forward to yoga more than I ever did spinning or running (although I do sometimes miss them). As much as I love the mood boosting endorphins and high you get after a great cardio workout, the post yoga high is even better. There is a similar mood and energy boost, but it's combined with the feeling you have after getting a 60 minute massage. I don't really know how to put it into words, but it's very calming, relaxing, strengthening and challenging all in one. I feel like I'm starting to understand yoga more and more, but sometimes I still leave that last 10 minutes of class where everyone is "meditating". I tend to just get sleepy and I'm afraid I'll be left there sleeping on my yoga matt while everyone is stepping over me on their way out the door.
